Most name lists are a 2019 post with the year swapped in the title, which is how you end up drafting under a pun about a player who retired two seasons ago. Every player name below is checked against the same ADP snapshot that powers our trade values — and we show you which player each one is about, so you can call us on it.

2026 player puns
83 namesEvery name here is built on a player currently inside the top 100 of redraft ADP, with the team listed so you can check us. Puns on retired or cut players are the clearest sign a list has not been touched in three years.
Funny fantasy football team names
49 namesJokes that do not depend on any one player staying healthy. These survive a Week 2 ACL tear, which is more than most of the puns above can say.
Best all-time team names
40 namesThe ones that keep showing up in real leagues year after year because they are actually good. Low risk, no explanation required at the draft.
Inappropriate team names
33 namesDouble entendres that will get a reaction in the group chat and still render fine on your league homepage at work. Know your commissioner.
Fantasy football league names
30 namesFor the commissioner. A league name outlives every roster in it, so pick something that still works when half the original managers have quit.
Names for when the roster is already cooked
25 namesNothing defuses a 2-9 season like naming it. Change to one of these around Week 8 and you take the joke away from everyone else.
Picking one that lasts the season
A name tied to one player is funny in August and awkward by October. If you go with a pun, pick a player you actually rostered and are unlikely to trade — ideally a young one, since the joke dies the week he does. If you want something that cannot be ruined by a hamstring, take one from the funny or all-time sections instead.
Two practical notes. Most platforms cap team names around 50 characters, so the longer entries here will truncate on a standings page — check how it looks before you commit. And if your league puts standings on a screen at a bar or in an office, the inappropriate section is a decision you are making on behalf of everyone else in the room.
Where these came from
The puns are written against the top of current redraft ADP, taken from the same values pipeline the trade calculator runs on, last rebuilt July 29, 2026. When a player changes teams or falls out of relevance, the pun comes off the list rather than sitting here another three years. The non-player names are collected from real leagues and written fresh — no scraping, and no filler entries padding the count.
